Raymond Wu

This etching was part of my year 12 HSC Visual arts major work. This represents the changing attitudes and culture of China, as a result of capitalisation, as it is being "poured" into everyday life. the intergration of the Coca Cola Bottle and the MacDonald's sign are such examples of the westernisation of China. Also it shows that MacDonald'd and Coca Cola have become more than just an "American Company" but it has become more a "transnational corporation".

The Pantheon is located in present day Rome. It is perhaps the most celebrated piece of western architecture. The building was built using methods which were lost during the Dark Ages, such an example is concrete construction.
The method of construction for the Dome was unknown for many centuries during the dark ages. In order to allow a gradual decrease of weight as the building rises the materials were arranged in different combinations to allow the top of the dome to be open to the sky.
This photograph was taken when I was at Queenstown, New Zealand. It is of the sunset at Lake Wakatipu, It was taken from the town facing the opposite side of the lake. Earlier that day there was rain, hence the clouds which can be seen in the photograph.
